Tanzania Safaris and Gorilla Trekking in Uganda and Congo

Tanzania safari starts with Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park as well as Virunga national park then crossing to Tanzania to visit Tarangire National Park famous for Big Five animals – buffaloes, cheetahs, elephants, lions and rhinos – in the rolling Savannah, visit the Lake Manyara National Park, a small park at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment known for her tree climbing lions, birding and seasonal flamingo flocks and lastly visit the renown Ngorongoro Crater as well as the Ngorongoro Conservation Area which features the highest concentrations of wildlife.

Spend one hour with our very close relatives in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After breakfast we drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. On our way we pass through interesting villages and see some beautiful landscapes. We make a stop at the equator before we reach the mountains where we have some breath taking views. We spend the night in or very near Bwindi. Bwindi Impenetrable is a unique jungle, with many monkey species. Bwindi is one of the 2 places in the world where you can find Mountain Gorillas!

After breakfast we bring you to the starting point of the gorilla trekking tours. After the briefing you begin your tracking of the gorillas. The bamboo forest will drip around you as you first hear the breaking of bamboo signalling the group is near and then you will be face to face with one of the most delightful and fascinating creatures in the world. After an hour’s viewing you will make the track back.

Transfer to Congo. Going on a gorilla trek is a fantastic once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it is at the top of many people’s bucket list. There is nothing as thrilling as being amidst the great apes, which share 98% of human DNA, in the middle of an impenetrable jungle.

Gorilla trekking in the DRC involves hiking deep into the mountain jungles to observe a gorilla family in the wild. Visitors will be led by guides and national park rangers who keep records of the gorillas for conservation purposes and help protect them from poachers. They can determine the general area where a gorilla family will be and are skilled in tracking them.

Your gorilla trekking adventure in the DRC will begin early in the morning and you will be driven up to the gorilla trekking starting point at Bukima – a ranger’s station in the mountains of the Virunga National Park, outside the city of Goma. The small agrarian villages you’ll pass, and the people who run to the road to wave at you, will give you a glimpse of a different way of life.

Transfer to Tanzania. Pick up from Kilimanjaro airport by our company tour guide who will drive you to your hotel for Dinner and overnight at our hotel depending on the airport of arrival. Early morning breakfast at hotel and set off with your guide to Tarangire National Park. Have a game drive on arrival through the golden Savannah plains characterized of scattered acacia trees with fantastic views of all the Big five wildlife – buffaloes, cheetahs, elephants, lions and rhinos, other wildlife include hartebeest, giraffes, Impala, Eland, generuk, tree climbing lions, birds like Kori bustard, stocking – thighed ostrich, ground horn bills, colourful yellow-collared lovebird roaming across the Savannah. Have Lunch at your lodge, relax and later in the afternoon return back for another game drive. Later have diner and overnight at you lodge/Camp/Tent.

Transfer to Lake Manyara National park – 3 Hours’ Drive. Early morning game drive through Taragire national park with great views of wildlife and later depart for Lake Manyara, a small national park situates at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. Lake Manyara is mostly associated to birding and seasonal flamingo flocks, tree climbing, large herds of elephants and a few sights of other big cats. On arrival first have lunch at your lodge after which have a game viewing drive on the lake shores. Dinner and overnight at your lodge on the edge of the Great Rift Valley located.

Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater. Set off for the Ngorongoro Crater early morning after breakfast, reaching in time for a half day game drive. Ngorongoro national park is Tanzania’s most visited national park with large concentration of African wildlife than anywhere else in the world! Home to over 30, 0000 wildlife species, its only here where you can find Tanzania’s last surviving black rhinos. The Ngorongoro crater has water all year round hence home to vast wildlife including large herds of zebras, wildebeest, hippo, buffalo, eland, and warthog. A high population of big cats including lions, cheetahs, leopard and jackals. Later enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor amidst the wildlife. Later Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Arusha – Departure. Have breakfast and be ready to transfer to Arusha, have lunch on arrival and drop off at the airport to catch your departure flight back home
